Visa and Travel Information
March of the Living is NOT responsible for organising participant's visas for the programme.
Please read the information below carefully:
IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING TRAVEL
1. South African passport holders will need to apply for a Schengen visa in order to enter Poland. New visa regulations in South Africa require that all travellers under the age of 18 have an unabridged birth certificate as well as certified parental consent to travel from both parents (stamped by a Commissioner of Oaths). This can be a lengthy process of 6-8 weeks typically - please apply for the unabridged birth certificate from Home Affairs as soon as possible.
2. Participants from Cape Town and Durban should note that visa applications must be made in person at the Polish Embassy in Pretoria. All arrangements in this regard will need to be made by the participant and at your own expense. However, there is one exception. If somebody has been issued any Schengen visa since mid-2013 and “VIS” is visible under the Remarks section of that visa, this person may send a representative to submit their application during their appointment. All visa requirements still apply.
3. In order to apply for the Schengen visa you will require the following documents from March of the Living. These will be sent to you by February. All other documents should be in order by this time so that you can then begin the application process:
a. Invitation letter to the March of the Living programme
b. Draft itinerary
c. E-ticket for international flights
APPLICATION PROCESS
See the Embassy for the Republic of Poland visa page for more information.
